Oddball Wednesday - Plaxton Pointer bodied Volvo B6LE

The following is a post written by Kieran before his decision to leave the blog.

The Plaxton Pointer had one of the most successful production runs in British bus history, but there are small number of examples which were no where near as popular.

P101NDT is based upon the Volvo B6LE, rather than the standard Dennis Dart option. It was the only example built for the British market, originally as a demonstrator.

It was not unique though, for 20 more were produced for Citybus in Hong Kong. Incidentally, two ended up back in Great Britain in 2000 for service with Stagecoach South East. The remaining eighteen were shipped to New Zealand for further use.

About Kieran Smith

Norwich Buses Blog was founded in December 2013 by Sam Larke after he left another popular blog, Norwich Bus Page. Since it's launch, the site has grown dramatically, especially whilst written solely by Kieran Smith during 2015. The blog is now in it's third year and we look forward to more success and growth in the future.
