Fleet Update - Konectbus

Thanks to one of my friends at Konectbus, I am able to provide some unexpected fleet news from the Dereham-based Go-Ahead Group subsidiary. As you may remember, last year, a number of Optare Tempo buses were withdrawn following the expiration of their lease deal with Konect. In May, the five VDL Gemini's in the fleet will face a similar fate. In May, 500-4 YJ05PXA-E will be returned to the company they were leased from since they were new in 2005, and be their place in the fleet will be taken by stored withdrawals 510-4 LB02YWX/Y, YXA/E/F - which are similar in specification to the VDLs apart from their Volvo chassis and London General interiors.

The Volvos were stored after withdrawal due to a reduction in PVR last autumn, and three of the type will be fitted with new engines by May to aid reliability. The other two already had newer engines fitted last year.
