Oddball Wednesday - East Lancs Nordic

One of ten very rare East Lancs Nordic deckers (Steven Hughes)
The following is a post written several months ago but previously never published.

Though First UK bus fleet is one of much standardisation, there are a few rarities hidden among them. For Oddball Wednesday this week, we take a look at the East Lancs Nordic - a rare type which was unique to First on British shores for many years.

East Lancs built just ten of the tri-axle Nordic bodies. They were based upon the Volvo B7L chassis, which was rare in Britain in a double deck form. The 95-seater beasts were leased to First Glasgow from new in 2002, and lasted up until 2013.

East Lancs went on to build a small handful of Myllennium Nordic types, upon the Volvo B9TL chassis.
