Norwich Buses Blog Advent Calendar - Day 15

For Day Fifteen of the Norwich Buses Blog Advent Calender, Mark Bowerbank has provided this excellent shot from 2004.

Photographed is Optare Excel 204 S170UAL, which had been acquired for use on Costessey Park and Ride service 507 - which at the time operated into Norwich via Dereham Road. Note the green branding above the windows and the window board, which was common place on Konectbus vehicles in the roller blind days.

Behind we see a First Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart on a working of the 17A from Lingwood for Norwich and South Tuckswood.

  1. How was thus 2004 when the got the contract in 2005?

    1. They were awarded the contract in 2005 to run the 604, this was prior to that.

    2. So they ran the P&R before being awarded the contract?

      Probably sounds dumb

    3. Services from Costessey were run commercially initially. First X94, 25 and 16 all operated their over time
