First day of revised Anglianbus and Konectbus network

Today was the first day of a heavily revised Anglianbus and Konectbus network, which saw a number of controversial cutbacks.

In Norwich, most prevalent of all was the dissapearance of service 2 to Cromer and Sheringham. On the 53, the service was amalgamated with the 5 to operate between Wroxham and Queen's Hills; as a result, Hoveton and Tuckswood were without blue buses for the first time in many years today.

At Anglianbus, the 7 grew in length being extended to operate all the way through to Lowestoft to replace part of the 61. The route was also revised through Gorleston to serve Mariners Compass and Avondale Road, presumably to compete with First services 1 and 8. The X88 changed to become a regular service throughout the day to differentiate between standard 88 journeys and those not serving Arminghall, Woodton and Broome.
