Tuesday Time Tunnel - Eastern Counties Mundesley Outstation

Mundesley Outstation photographed in 1976 (Return2LayerRoad)
For this week's Tuesday Time Tunnel we head back to 1976 with this excellent photograph from regular contributor 'Return2LayerRoad'.

Mundesley outstation was allocated four buses, manned by six drivers. In this view we see a trio of Eastern Coach Works bodied vehicles, from left to right being, VR371 TNG371G, LM990 490DPW and LS818. The latter was new in December 1962 as a coach, and converted for bus operation in April 1975.

Mundesley outstation closed six year after this photograph was taken on Saturday 27th October 1982; just under thirty three years ago today. The Eastern Counties network in on the North Norfolk Coast diminished significantly following privitisation and take over by First; much of the network fell into the hands of Sanders Coaches
