Stagecoach close another former Norfolk Green outstation

Following the closures of Reepham and Cromer outstations earlier in the year, Stagecoach have recently closed Upwell outstation with effect from October 10th.

Upwell was an outstation predominantly for service 60 between Wisbech and Downham Market.

The drivers and vehicles have transferred to Long Sutton outstation in Lincolnshire, which before the move housed around fourteen vehicles.

Colin Apps has provided this photograph of a one time Norfolk Green Plaxton Beaver bodied Mercedes Benz 811D at the now closed Upwell outstation. Colin also adds the note "In the early days when I worked from there, it had four vehicles, generally as follows: two Solos (for 60 and something I can’t now remember), an Optare Delta which went onto X17 (King's Lynn-Spalding), though I can’t remember what it did to get to Lynn, and a Mercedes 709D, for 64 – Upwell-COWA. (it is worth noting there was also a 2 vehicle outstation at Leverington (Solo for 66 and a Merc 709D for 63)."
