Bernard Matthews Watch - Introduction

To see a large map of the BM3 route, please see here.
Welcome to the first of a new, resource permitting, series. In the run up to Christmas, the demand for buses to and from Bernard Matthew's Great Witchingham factory increases significantly. The new series is intended to review the week's allocations on two services heading into Norwich, as outlined below.

First's BM3 is operated by the Norwich allocation, with scheduled buses worked into the standard daily duties. Though the service operates all year round, the seasonal demand has seen up to four vehicles head in convoy from the factory at Great Witchingham into Norwich. The service operates from Great Witchingham to Bowthorpe Shopping Centre, operating via a loop of the Norwich ring road. For a full map, see here.

In previous years, from both King's Lynn and Norwich, buses operated from Great Witchingham to Downham Market. Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft runs also operate to and from the site just outside Halesworth. If it permits, or any contributors wish to take part, I will be more than willing to outline these allocations to.

Richard's operate two services to and from Great Witchingham
Richard's seasonally operate shuttles from Bernard Matthews at Great Withcingham to Tunstead via the north Norwich ring road. Both First and Richard's services depart Bernard Matthews simultaneously at 16:25, which often leads to some nice convoy's along the A1067 if the vehicles manage to stay together. Richard's also operate a yearly service between Great Witchingham and Hockering via Dereham, Yaxley and Mattishall.

This following week, recording of workings begin. As always, I welcome reader's help -  so get recording and sending your sightings in!
