Konectbus new Rackheath depot opens

Four of ten new buses dropped off at the new Konectbus depot
on Rackheath Industrial Estate today (Steve Royal)
Steve Royal, Operations Manager at Konectbus, provides photographs from the opening of the operator's new depot on Rackheath Industrial Estate. A cavalcade of green ferried their way along the A47 as the ten buses were shifted from Dereham across to the new site.

The opening of a second depot comes as a result of a massive influx of eighteen new buses for the massively revised Norwich Park and Ride network, which commences tomorrow morning. Between both depots, thirty eight drivers, eighteen new buses and at least three repainted buses will piece together to complete the operation.

Konectbus' new depot, home to a total of ten buses, lies on Rameriz Road - perpendicular to the former Anglianbus depot on Witchcraft Way. The site will allow minimal dead mileage, hence saving fuel and cutting driver's hours - it is expected that the buses at Rackheath will take up duties predominantly from Sprowston and Postwick.
