Odds and Ends: 06/08/2015

42921 back in Yarmouth on Wednesday (Cameron Robinson)
Another bumper odds and ends this week with even more acquisitions, transfers and news!

Regular contributor Cameron Robinson informs me that First Norwich Alexander Dennis Pointer Dart 42921 EU05AUN has been permanently transferred to Great Yarmouth where it was transferred to Norwich from at the beginning of this year. The bus appeared back in Great Yarmouth on Wednesday 5th July, as photographed by Cameron on the right.

George Monks reports that OurBus have acquired VanHool T8 Alizée bodied Volvo B10M L141AHS - it is currently being prepared for the new school season.

Konectbus' fifth and final Konectexpress Alexander Dennis Enviro400 was delivered on Friday. SK15HKE was sighted stuck in miles of tailbacks on the A47 Eastbound after a serious collision at Middleton. The batch should be making a debut into service next week.

As mentioned last week, Wright Eclipse bodied Volvo B7RLE 66982 KX05MHL has now transferred to Norwich. Many thanks to Jim Long for the heads up that it had left Ipswich tomorrow morning, and to Joe Wilson for informing me it had arrived safely at its new home.

At Anglianbus, Optare Solo 907 YT51EBF has been transferred back from Chambers to Anglianbus. Having never been repainted at Chambers, it has simply had Anglianbus fleet names re-applied and pressed into service.

Rare workings this week have been far and few. On Wednesday, Konectbus 408 YJ56WVB made an appearance on the 8 whilst 401 MX05EKY was employed on Harford Park and Ride service 601. The appearance of an Alexander Dennis Enviro200 on a First 29/29A/29B duty, which includes a 15 relief and evening run of the 28 is becoming more common - with two sightings of it happening this week. First's Wright Streetlites are also now a regular on the 39 with the two Enviro200s 45119 and 42928 being transferred to Ipswich. On Saturday 8th August, Anglianbus Optare Excel 229 X299WRA was employed on the 61A, thanks to Cameron Robinson for sending this one in. Notable also was the use of a North Star Travel VDL Futura 2 on the 16:05 National Express 490 from the University of East Anglia and Norwich to London and 21:00 return on Saturday evening.

David Green has informed me on Facebook that Galloway have acquired Alexander (Belfast) RH bodied Volvo Olympian N827FKK from Stephensons of Essex. Furthermore, two more Optare Solo SRs are due for delivery in October and a new Caetano Levante for National Express work. Also from Suffolk, Ipswich Buses Alexander Dennis Enviro400MMC YY64GWX spent its final day on loan yesterday.

As some of you may know, I'm currently on holiday in stunning North Yorkshire. I am blogging between days out, but do expect a slight decrease in posts while I am away. Of course, special reports will appear next week with my reports. In the meantime here is a small teaser...
