Sanders 901 making a very rare appearance on the X44 on
Friday (Return2LayerRoad)
Eight months into the year we go, and we begin the start of an exciting two months of new buses, new services and a brand new Park and Ride system in the City Centre.

I shall start this week's Odds and Ends with a small disclaimer; I cannot garuntee the accuracy of what users other than myself post in the Norwich Buses Blog comments/chatango or Facebook group. In the past week, as many have asked me about, a link to a Wikipedia page was posted in one of the above with an article claiming that Anglianbus and Konectbus had been taken over by First. This is complete nonsense and certainly is very far from the truth. Anyway, onwards we go...

In a league of their own from the rare working sections are two ultra rare goings on this week. On Thursday 30th July, Konectbus Mercedes Benz Citaro artic 802 BD57WCZ made appearances on the 2, X6 and 53 - all usually worked by buses much smaller in length. Interestingly however, as far as many of us know, the 2, X6, and 53 are not all interworked on a weekday! On Friday 31st July, it Sanders Jonckheere SHV bodied Volvo B12BT 901 RDV903 provided extra comfort on the X44 after completing a run from Sheringham to Norwich.

On Tuesday evening, Joe Wilson reported the use of a First Norwich Alexander Dennis Enviro200 on the 15 or 15A. This was followed on Saturday evening of my own sighting of 45117 ST58JPT on the 28. Jamie Skinner has noted that First Great Yarmouth Alexander Royale bodied Volvo Olympian 34108 W435CWX on the 8, I believe Saturday was the fifth day in a row. Also on Saturday Konectbus "Yellow Versa" 307 AU11ESG made a rare appearance on the 21 in Dereham.

Turning heads in Ipswich is the YY64GWX (Bryan Dickson)
I am reliably informed that joining the First Norwich fleet from Ipswich will be Wright Eclipse Urban bodied Volvo B7RLE 66982 KX05MHL and possibly a second other. I presume this follows the cutbacks on the 64 and 65 due to low patronage. Also in Ipswich, the cameras are clicking as Alexander Dennis Enviro400MMC demonstrator YY64GWX hit the road. From the outside it certainly looks stunning, reports even suggest the inside is quite the part too.

Melvyn King, who regularly provides VOSA updates, has been bringing out a number of changes in the Norwich area. These are expected to appear in this fortnight's Notices and Proceedings document, which will be summed up here on the blog Wednesday morning.

And onto the week's review: On Monday, a photo special from the Pretty Muddy Run and the first photos of the new buses at Konectbus. On Tuesday, it was more news from Konectbus with the latest Fleet Update, accompanied by news of exciting new ticket options at Stagecoach Norfolk. Oddball Wednesday was a hit this week, being the Wright Eclipse Commuter which was followed by a special visit to Richard's Coaches in Guist. On Thursday we had a major update to our Historical Archive - which, on the subject, is due for yet another big update soon. On Friday, we took a look at all the latest from Around The UK and brought the latest transfer news from First Norwich. On Saturday, a story of a runaway bus in Aylsham followed by more of the latest news from Konectbus. This morning, we took a look at the new buses entering service at Stagecoach Norfolk.
