Oddball Wednesday: Wright Eclipse Schoolrun

Ulsterbus 326 photographed Dungannon (Mark Long)
For last week's Oddball Wednesday, we took a look at a rare Wright Eclipse derivation known as the Eclipse Commuter. This week, we focus on the equally unusual Wright Eclipse Schoolrun.

The product was built exclusively for Ulsterbus' large school services operation, having been based on the intial idea of the Eclipse Commuter. In 2006, an order for just over one hundred was placed, which was followed by later orders bringing the total produced up to around one hundred and sixty. The buses were built upon the Volvo B7R chassis and had a capacity of 66 or 62 seats depending on the wheelchair area layout.

As can be seen in Mark Long's photograph (Compare to last week), the Schoolrun has a slightly taller profile with all seats being encapsulated on the same level and no luggage lockers in the lower bodywork.
