AU03HWS in its Anglianbus guise (David Oakley)
For this week's Vehicle Focus, we take a look at a little bit of local talent - a bus which began life twelve years ago and is now with its third owner, but has always operated in the immediate areas.

Optare Solo AU03HWS entered service in 2003 with Anglianbus, or then as they were more better known Anglian Coaches. It became vehicle 300 in the fleet, and worked as a back up for the BroadsHopper regular. Despite this, it made appearances all over the Anglian network. There are very few photographs of it available online, but I have managed to find this one from David Oakley - which is reproduced here under Creative Commons Licensing.

In 2009, AU03HWS was sold to family run independent Neaves of Catfield. It became the regular bus on the 32 and 36, alongside an Optare Excel, Wright Cadet bodied DAF SB120 and a Plaxton Beaver bodied Mercedes Benz 811D.

In its most recent guise with Sanders as vehicle 215.
In April 2014, Sanders acquired the vehicles and operations of Neaves. AU03HWS passed across to its third local home, becoming vehicle 215. Originally, AU03HWS operated in allover white with Sanders Services vinyls. It wasn't until a year later that 215 was sent to Full Circle in Banham for repaint into the allover orange identity of Sanders. Rather fittingly, the bus is a regular on former Neaves service 32 - and the first afternoon journey of the 210 from Norwich to Buxton.

There we go, one of not many buses in the local area which have passed through three operators hands whose networks cross in many areas, and all of which operate into the same City.
