Throwback Thursday: Excel History

The appearance of a 2008 delivered Volvo B9TL with Wright Eclipse Gemini may not appear to be much of a historic gem, but whilst sorting through old photographs last night I cam across this one - taken in Lowestoft in a very warm day in July 2013 - just months before the buses would be replaced by newer Alexander Dennis Enviro400s.

Somewhat unbelievably, the batch of seventeen were delivered seven years ago this September - and marked a massive upgrade on the vehicle previously used in terms of passengers comfort - and two years since their withdrawal from the X1. Interestingly, however, with the split of the X1 last year due to roadworks at Postwick, many of the former X1 chariots found their way back on the route - albeit only between Lowestoft and Norwich.
