Odds and ends - 21/06/2015

First Lowestoft 30889 and 37570 are currently on loan to Great
Yarmouth.
This week has seen vehicle movements galore, yet more repaints and a small handful of rare workings.

Whilst in the East of the region on Wednesday 17th, I noted First Lowestoft Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TL 30889 W744DWX on the 1 and Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL 37570 AU58ECT on the 3 - both of which are run from Great Yarmouth depot. Grahame Bessey informs me that both are currently on loan to the latter.

On Friday 20th, First Great Yarmouth Alexander Dennis Enviro400 33423 SN60CAA appeared in Norwich on a private hire. On the same day, heritage Routemaster 39623 NML623E was also used on a private hire, and spent a couple of hours sat at the end of Castle Meadow.

In Ipswich, Hants and Dorset Trim tweeted photographs of the latest Ipswich Buses former Lothian Buses Transbus Pointer Dart. SN53AVP is expected back in the Suffolk town in the coming week.

On the local sales front, the pair of Richards midi coaches mentioned in previous Odds and Ends, Swift Autosan Eagle 118 BV57MTJ and  Reynolds of Caister VanHool Alizee bodied Volvo B10M 7829DD all are still up for sale on various sites.

It has been a pretty mundane week in terms of rare workings. On Monday 15th Sanders Plaxton Premiere bodied Dennis Javelin 1010 YO02PCT appeared on bus-worked service 43. On Wednesday 17th, First Great Yarmouth Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL 32629 KP54KAX appeared on the X1. Thursday 18th saw First Norwich Wright Streetlite 47510 SN64CRV appear on the 28, with a second on the 11, and Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL 37562 FJ08FYN on the 21 and 21A. On Friday 19th, Jamie Skinner sent me a couple of photographs of Excel branded Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL 37578 AU58EDJ working town service 8. On Saturday 20th, Anglianbus Scania Omnicity 458 YN05HFH made an appearance on the 7 and 61.

We shall end the week on this excellent photograph sent in by Sam
Larke, depicting the bus we've all been excited about this week!
To round the week up; on Monday we shared some exciting diary dates forthcoming and some First Routemaster news, 36180's first day back in service after a repaint and our new First Norwich photographic fleetlist. Tuesday brought out our latest Showbus Update, all the latest updates and happenings from a city centre visit and a look back at some Norfolk Green elders. This week's Oddball Wednesday features a rare Ipswich Buses Optare, which was followed by a very interesting find in Catfield. On Thursday, we took a look at a very interesting shot from Norwich in 1980 then brought some exclusive First Norwich news. This Friday's Around The UK has been popular, featuring some rather big news from London. Friday also saw a newbie on the streets of Norwich, which I went out to take ride on and the Stagecoach Norfolk allover advert bus appeared. On Saturday morning, there was more news from Stagecoach Norfolk, followed by 42921 repainted and other sightings from the city centre.
