Odds and ends - 07/06/2015

On at least three occasions this week, Dart 42921 has been sighted
on the 24 and 24A.
Welcome to the first Odds and ends of June as we head into the second half of the year. Most of what has gone on this week has already been reported, but there's plenty of interesting working and little sightings to take note of.

At Richards Coaches, based in Guist, Mercedes Benz minibus S555BUS has gained the lilac and white fleet livery.

Norwich based Wright Gemini 2 bodied Volvo B9TL 36180 BD11CDZ is currently at Simon Morris in Ipswich for repaint.

Onto this week's rare allocations. First Norwich Alexander Dennis Pointer Dart 42921 EU05AUN on Red Line services 24 and 24A on Tuesday 2nd June, with Gemini 36172 BD11CFV on the 23 and 23A also. On the same day, Konectbus Optare Versa 306 YJ60KGV was on the usually Solo run 51 all day. On  Wednesday 3rd, Konectbus 3 & 6 branded Alexander Dennis Enviro400 612 SN62AVY appeared on the 2. On Thursday 4th June, First Norwich buses got a nice holiday off their usual routes - Dart 42921 EU05AUN appeared on the 24 and 24A again, Gemini 36171 BD11CFU appeared on the 13 with sister 36172 BD11CFV on the 28 and older Gemini relative 37562 FJ08FYN on the 23 and 23A. On Friday 5th June, Konectbus 504 YJ05PXD made an appearance on the usually single decker run 5 and First Gemini 36171 BD11CFU appeared on the 11 and 11A, which are usually dominated by Plaxton Presidents. Joe Wilson reported that on Friday Konectbus Optare Versa 300 MX08UZT made an unusual appearance on the 2, with an Optare Tempo on the evening run of the 2 which operates that 2A through to Dereham - which is usually worked by a double decker.

On a follow up note to the above, 42921 EU05AUN appeared on the 24 and 24A most days this week so could well be now standard. Likewise, the use of a Versa on the 51 this week has also been regular.

To round the week up on Norwich Buses Blog, Monday saw a fleet update from Semmence, news of expansion on the blog and an interesting visit to King's Lynn. On Tuesday, there was news of an interesting visitor on the M37, yet another new vehicle for Sanders was revealed and a photo special from Clacton Bus Rally. Oddball Wednesday this week was a very rare former local mini coach, which was followed by news from First Norwich and their plans for this year's Royal Norfolk Show. This week's Throwback Thursday was some Excel history followed by some Norwich visitors and local updates. Friday saw the first photos of 66977 in service with Norwich and a look at industry happenings on a nationwide basis. On Saturday, we took a look at some interesting Norwich destination oddities and a mixed bag some very interesting photographs.
