Odds and Ends - 10/05/2015

Sighted in Wroxham this week was a pair of Spratts VanHools
This week, whilst most of the news has been big enough to warrant a single report, there a few odds and ends left over to report.

First up from Wroxham was the sighting of a pair of Spratts VanHool Alizees at the coach park at Broads Tours. The pair were operating an excursion to the Broads area, including a cruise on Wroxham's popular boat service.

A number of rare workings have been noted by both myself and the wonderful contributors this week. Noted on the Sanders 32 on two accounts this week was a Wright Cadet bodied DAF SB120 in place of the usual Optare Solo. At First, Wright Streelite 47511 SN64CRX appeared on the 23 and 23A yesterday. Konectbus used Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL 511 LB02YWY on the Thickthorn Park and Ride 601 in place of the the usual batch of the similar VDL DB250 based Wright Pulsar Geminis. Used on the 51, usually worked by slimline Optare Solos, was Optare Versa 303 AU08DKN yesterday, with an unconfirmed Optare Tempo the previous day. Thanks to Joe Wilson for sending in his reports this week.

Stagecoach Norfolk 25121 is back in service, and has been on the X29
into Norwich for most of the week.
From Norfolk Green, the first sign of the decision to change the name to Stagecoach Norfolk has been made. On Friday afternoon, the operator Tweeted "Good night from #StagecoachInNorfolk. See you again in the morning." The account name has yet to change, however. Also noteworthy is that repainted Optare Tempo 25121 YJ56ATU is back in service and has been used on the X29 into Norwich for most of this week. Omar Attialah reports that the seats are re-trimmed in Stagecoach moquette, with orange grab rails.

To sum the week up, on Monday I brought you a report from the Ipswich to Felixstowe road run, with an excellent Tuesday Time Tunnel from Joe Wilson on Tuesday; following that was a report from the local operator who has begun handing out free newspapers. This week's Oddball Wednesday was very well received featuring one of just 102 around. there was then a fleet update from Stagecoach Norfolk and the first pictures of newly repainted First coach 20514. Thursday saw yet more news from the bus which has created quite a stir, with Friday's Around The UK containing just was it say on the tin. On Friday afternoon, I headed out to spot some oddities and published a report on Saturday morning regarding some very famous visitors to Norwich. The same afternoon, there was another report from a trip out with lots more news and sightings.

In a league of their own this week was a report from First and a report from Konectbus, with some very exciting news of bus provision for Radio 1's Big Weekend at the end of this month.
