L198SCM was a mark three Buffalo based upon the O814D chassis,
rather than the earlier truck derivations (Richard Haughey)
Richard Haughey has once again sent in another excellent photograph for the Oddball Wednesday series.

L198SCM, which is photographed here whilst under ownership by Felix of Long Melford, was a rare example of a dealer-built product.

The vehicle is a North West Coach Sales Buffalo Mark 3 based upon a Mercedes Benz O814D chassis. Earlier Mark 1 and Mark 2 models had a complete truck front with the cab door, and based upon the 814L chassis. The type was produced from the very late 1980s, through to the late 1990s. A few of the twenty or so produced can still be found in service, although many were sold to the scrapman.
