This week has been a busy one, and not just in terms of buses! The election has been upon us and that's all we've really heard about. There have, at the same time, been quite a lot going on around the UK since our last update.

A press release on the Volvo Bus and Coach UK website announced that the all new Volvo B8R is now available with Sunsundegui SC5 bodywork. At just over 10 metres wide, the new combination can seat between 38 and 41 passengers and is currently on tour of UK operators.

Scania UK has also formaly announced the delivery of sixteen Irizar i6 bodied Scania K410 tri-axle coaches for City Circle. Cateralls of Southam have taken delivery of similar i6 integral YN15YTS.

Optare announced the order of four new Optare Metrocity Euro6 single deckers for Welsh operator Richard Bros. The new single deckers are said to be for their high profile Welsh Assembly supported TrawCymbria service T5.

With much sadness, this week recently retired Go-Ahead chief engineer Phil Margave passed away unexpectedly. An article by Bus & Coach Buyer can be read here, which includes a number of messages from other other influential industry figures.

Reported on the Buses in East Anglia Facebook group was the arrival of the first Wright Streetlite at First Essex's Colchester depot, 47657 SN15AEX. It is said that fifteen to twenty of the type are expected over the course of the next month or so.
