Ambassador Loanee

Yesterday afternoon in a report on an afternoon of bus spotting, I mentioned the rare appearance of South Gloucestershire Bus and Coach National Express liveried Caetano Levante bodied Scania K340 NX06AAA on the 491. The 491 is usually worked by Ambassador Travel vehicles.

I have since been reliably informed that the coach in question is currently on loan to Great Yarmouth based Ambassador Travel following a road traffic collision on the Acle Straight at the end of March causing heavy damage to the front end of a native Ambassador Caetano Levante.

South Gloucestershire Bus and Coach currently hold eight National Express contracts, with a large fleet of branded coaches, which are often found loaned to other contractors. NX06AAA was recently loaned to Whippet of Fenstanton when the Cambridgeshire operator won their first National Express contracts. It is said that NX06AAA appeared on a low loader in Great Yarmouth around two weeks ago.

Thanks go out to those who were in touch with the know how!

  1. South Gloucestershire Bus and Coach received several '14' plate Caetano Levante MkII's last year meaning that many of the older versions are surplus to their requirement.
